I have had relatively good experiences in going in to Michael's stores and previous online orders, until i got suckered into some "Cyber Monday" deals. I had two sets of Golden acrylic paints I wanted to order, and 2 promo codes to apply - one for free shipping, one for 30% off my entire order.

As I was going through the checkout process, I didn't see anywhere to put in my promo codes. I'm not sure if it was my fault and I missed them, or if it wasn't an option, but I kept placing my order thinking it would be an option at the end. I ended up placing my order without any discounts! I was immediately on the phone the next day with customer service.

The lady I spoke to said she would apply both of the promo codes, bringing my total down from about $158 to $102. I got a refund for just the shipping and not the 30% off, the said because that promo didn't apply to online only items. So I decided I wanted a full return and refund, especially since I found the exact same items at Jerry's Artorama AND DickBlick for LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE and free shipping. My total for the exact same items there came to $70.

I got the package from Michaels, put the return shipping label on it and took it to the UPS store right away. The customer care supervisor told me my refund would be processed as soon as I got it in the mail and it showed it was being returned. That didn't happen. So I call again, and am told I'll receive the refund by the end of the business day.

That didn't happen. SO I call again, and am told it has to be received by their warehouse and processed which can take a few days, so I asked to talk to the supervisor again asking why I'm being told different things and can I please just get my refund?! Now I'm told I'll get it today. We will see.

This time I asked for her direct number and extension so if what she tells me will happen doesn't happen I can speak directly to her and not be sent in circles again and told different things by different people at their customer care center! What a headache.

Not to mention the way better deals elsewhere online and their lack of recognition of misleading advertising for their deals, or matching other prices. I'm mostly just frustrated and disappointed by their lack of good customer service, for being a regular customer.

This sounds like a you problem. You didn't put the codes in so now you want a refund. As an employee myself I know that's it far cheaper to use DickBlick.

I'm always so astounded to how people won't read the coupon policies and promo code policies,promo codes are when you are buying something online only,not when you are in the store buying,you use either a printed up coupon or one off your smart phone from the website.Maybe reading up ahead of time on the websites policies will save you a major headache and from looking like a ***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
