I've had many many bad experiences with the Michaels store near me & I always let it go until now. I've decided to let others know how bad their customer service is.

Today, I came in 15 minutes before closing & I wanted to make sure I find what I needed fast. I stopped an employee & asked her where I could find some cake decorating tips. She told me to go to the back of the store on the left & walked away. When I located the tips, I saw a sign for cake decorating classes so I went back to the same lady in the front & ask to sign up for that class.

She told me to go wait in line with the paying customers & a cashier would sign me up. I waited. When it was my turn, the cashier said they don't do those classes & I would have to sign up online with another store. I asked her to show me the link on my phone which was all ready with Michaels website.

She told me I would have to go home & do it myself. Then she told me to move over so she could take a new customer! I said no, I needed her to show me because I don't want to go home just come back again to ask... I must have raised my voice out of frustration & she asked why I was yelling.

I told her because the first employee told me to wait in line & a cashier would sign me up. I waited just like everybody else did but now she's not only wanting to help, she's trying to get rid of me! She then turned to another cashier & told her to help me instead! That cashier said she was busy with her customer & I would have to wait but I would need to get out of the way for a customer behind me to be served.

I figured they were closing so ok, I'd move over. Then when it was my turn with that other cashier, she didn't know what she was doing at all & quickly said she didn't know where it is to sign up online! I couldn't believe how incompetent Michaels employees are! I even said, "So all 3 of you don't know where I could sign up for this class on your store website?" She replied no.

This is terrible! I feel so sorry for Michaels to have these employees turning their business away without a care in the world.

I personally like a lot of things at Michaels but I've been avoiding it like a plague because of their incompetent employees. I hope this message gets to someone higher up at Michaels so they could coach their employees better for the company's sake.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

We Michael's employees are NOT incompetent because we are VERY busy trying to ring up customers and not hold up the line especially right before the store closes.All we can do is direct you to go to www.michael's.com,go look for Wilton baking items and then you can find where to sign up online and yes we do get NEW employees from time to time that may not be fully aware of all things Michaels but that doesn't make them incompetent, and instead of getting angry,you could have been more observant and notice that employees are very busy right before nine pm and could have come back the next day when a little bit more time could be spent helping you and maybe even the CRM could help you!!!! But it's people like you that make our job's harder and more stressful!

They're there, working. Do you really think they have time to browse the Web with you?

You didn't even try to find it yourself before holding up the line with something she already told you she couldn't help you with because you need to do it yourself. The associates that work in the store do just that: work in the store.

They are not experts on the website because they are not the ones that created or update the website. You were rude and you owe them, and they other people in line, an apology.
