This incident happened at the store in Braintree, MA. On Sunday I bought 2 floral arrangements from a table that said 40% off.

I got them home and displayed on the tables I bought them for and then decided by Tuesday that I really didn't like the fake flowers, so took them back with the sales receipt. I was told by the sales clerk and the manager that I could not return them because there were no tags. They didn't take back custom orders without tags. Store policy.

No where in the store that I could find was this posted and on the receipt it just says returns within 90 days. I proceeded to call 1-800-Michaels and spoke with a customer service person. Meanwhile, the manager took off to hide. I was on hold for around 15 minutes or so and finally the manager came back and said as a one time favor they would refund my money.

First off, in my day, I thought custom orders were a one of a kind, not on a table with other flowers exactly the same with a 40% discount. Needless to say, I will never be shopping there again. Sunday and yesterday there were barely any customers in the store to begin with. My thought is, this is the type of store that goes out of business very quickly when they have *** who treat customers this badly..I have only shopped in Michaels maybe 3 times in my whole life, and now I know why.

I am contacting the attorney general's office to file a complaint on their return policy.

Location: Braintree, Massachusetts

You bought it with a tag... You return it with a tag.

Your receipt prob says return in same condition you bought it in. This is because people will buy arrangements and use them for a party and bring it back afterwards to get their money back.

Don't agree with you. I buy something, I usually take the tags off once home.

I've personally never had a problem returning any item with tags removed as long as I have the receipt.

Stores should have the ability to put a new tag on an item.

Some stores won't take back sale merchandise, especially when it is in the line of home decor.
